Real Geometry, Computer Algebra and Math Education

On 17-21 May 2010 we will be celebrating the 60th birthday of Tomás Recio. The emphasis of the conference will be on the areas of mathematics most prominent in Tomás work. He has been the founder and father of the spanish communities in Real Algebraic Geometry and Computer Algebra and Geometry, and he has also been deeply involved and influential in Mathematical Education. The conference will take place at the CIEM (Centro Internacional de Encuentros Matemáticos) in Castro Urdiales (70 km east of Santander and 40 west of Bilbao). CIEM is a conference center born in 2006 from an agreement between the University of Cantabria and the municipality of Castro Urdiales.
